How to Add Users to the Overhead Paging Group in RingCentral

In RingCentral, overhead paging allows users to broadcast voice announcements to all members of a specific group—often used for building-wide alerts or announcements.

To allow specific users to access the overhead paging system, you must grant them permission through the RingCentral Admin Portal. Here's how:


Steps to Add Users to Overhead Paging

  1. Log in to the RingCentral Admin Portal
    Visit: https://support.ringcentral.com

  2. Click on “Phone System”
    From the left-hand navigation menu.

  3. Select “Groups”

  4. Click on “Paging Only”
    This section displays paging groups, including overhead paging.

  5. Select the “OverHead” Paging Group
    (This is the default name—your organization may use a different name.)

  6. Click on the “Paging” Tab

  7. Choose “Members allowed to page this group”

  8. Add Users

    • Search for the user(s) you want to grant access to

    • Check the box next to their name

    • Save your changes


Final Notes

  • Only users in the "Members allowed to page this group" list will be able to initiate a page.

  • Ensure the paging device or overhead system is correctly configured to receive calls from RingCentral.
