How to Pair a Logitech Mouse or Keyboard Using the Unifying Software

Logitech’s Unifying Software lets you connect multiple compatible wireless devices (like mice and keyboards) to a single tiny USB receiver, freeing up valuable USB ports. Here's a step-by-step guide to pair a new device:

✅ Steps to Pair a Device

  1. Plug in the Unifying Receiver
Insert the small orange-star USB receiver into a USB port on your computer.

  2. Launch Logitech Unifying Software

  3. Click “Advanced”
This tab lets you view and manage all devices paired to the receiver.

  4. Clear Unused Devices (Optional but Recommended)
If old devices are listed that you no longer use, select them and click "Remove" to free up space and avoid conflicts.

  5. Click “Pair New Device”
The software will begin searching for a new device.

  6. Turn On the New Device
Switch on your mouse or keyboard. Make sure it has fresh batteries.

  7. Follow On-Screen Instructions

    • For a mouse, you’ll be asked to move it.

    • For a keyboard, you may be prompted to type a verification code.

  8. Confirmation
Once recognized, the software will confirm that your device is successfully paired and ready to use.

? Tips

  • Most receivers can pair up to six devices.

  • Only Unifying-compatible devices (with the orange star icon) will work.

  • Keep the receiver plugged in while pairing; don’t use a USB hub if pairing fails.
